    Roommate needed starting 3/1

Hello! My name is Charlotte and I am a first year grad student in the environmental science program. My roommate, Casey, and I are in need of someone to take over the lease for our third roommate, which would be 3/1-8/1 (possibility of flexibility with move-in date), and the possibility of the 3 of us renewing in September. We are both Villanova grad students.

Your room would be on the third floor and has its own heat/AC unit as it’s a converted attic. It’s a huge bedroom so the monthly rent for it is $740. The bedroom will come totally unfurnished.

The house itself is a single family home. It’s a 3BR/1.5 Bath shared with 2 other female roommates. There is a 4-car garage in back on the property, but only the property owner has access/can use it.

Since it is a house, there is decent amount of maintenance that has to get done around the house throughout the year like taking out trash/recyclables, mowing the backyard, and shoveling snow/salting in front of the house at times, so you will have to take part in those responsibilities and there are occasional split costs associated with it.

The average monthly cost of utilities is $100 per person (we have Peco, Aqua, and Verizon Internet – no cable). Sewage gets billed 4x year and ends up being about $25 per person each quarter so $100 per person over the entire year.

We are managed by a realty agency so to be approved you would need to go through the application process and provide them with your last 3 paystubs and make 2.5 times the monthly rent — which would be $1,850 in this case ($740 X 2.5). You will also be required to get renters insurance. It costs me $146 for the year so depending on your insurance I’d assume it would end up costing you $70ish for renters insurance.

We’re less than a 10 min walk to all the bars/restaurants on Fayette street, and also a 10 minute walk from the Conshohocken train station.

A little about myself and roommate, Casey, and what kind of roommate we are looking for:
Both are female graduate students at Villanova (22 and 25) — One studies environmental science and the other studies math. We live fairly quiet and clean during the week, busy with school work. During the weekends, we tend to spend a lot of time out exploring the city and frequenting the bars of Manayunk.

General living preferences: must be clean, quiet during night hours, considerate of others, easy to get along with, no cigarette smokers
Gender: Preference given to females, but males will be considered
    Age: early to late 20s
    Students and young professionals welcome!
Pets: Dogs and small pets ok, NO cats

If you are interested in looking at this property and meet the requirements above, please let me know a little bit about yourself (age, occupation, interests, living habits, etc.) so we can make sure it’s a good fit before scheduling a visit. A link to facebook, instagram, twitter etc. is preferable! You can email me at cshade@villanova.edu

Otherwise here are the basic specs:
    -fenced in yard/back patio
-full basement w/ washer & dryer
    -3 Bedroom / 1.5 Bathroom
    -easy street parking

The bedroom is pictured. Go to our craigslist posting to see pictures of the whole house!

PS — the bedroom is NOT purple. It’s tan. Those are old pictures from Zillow

I will be beginning the accelerated second-degree BSNExpress program in May at Villanova. My current lease end on April 30th, so an ideal move-in date for me would be in early to mid May. I am a 22 year old male, non-smoker, with no pets; love dogs (slight cat allergy though), clean, quiet, respectable, very easy going and get along well with everyone.

I am open to living with males or females, even a combination of both. I would like to keep rent under 600-650 if possible. I am open to a wide variety of location/neighborhoods; somewhere along the main line would be preferred, (Haverford, Ardmore, Havertown, Narbeth, Merion Station, Wynnewood, Bala Cynwyd, Bryn Mawr). I will need to have parking, off-street or near ample street parking as I will need my car throughout the duration of my program.

If you are in need of a roommate for this coming summer and school year, have an open room, looking for a sublet, or want to look for an apartment with me, you can email me with any information and questions! gfrydenl@villanova.edu

Roommate Desired for Great Apartment less than a mile from Villanova

    Graduate students only, please.

Location: Bryn Mawr, PA, Lowrys Lane off Lancaster Ave, about 0.5mi (easy walking or biking distance) from Villanova U

Rent is cheap compared to many other places on the Main Line in close proximity to the university– $580 per person.

The larger of 2 bedrooms in a 2nd floor apartment in a large triplex will be open starting in July 2018. I would say the open room is about 10x10ish. There is a shared bathroom. The apartment itself is much roomier than I expected it to be before moving in. Definitely a good size for the money. It will be partly but not completely furnished at the time of move-in.

The residence is very quiet–it’s only grad students and non-students living in the triplex and the houses next door, so you won’t have to put up with any partying shenanigans. There’s good storage in the bedroom closets and the attic. The landlord is very good about helping out with repairs or anything else you need–she lives right next door. There is both on and off-street parking.

The apartment is about a 5min walk from the Norristown High Speed Line train, and from there about a 35-45min ride to center city Philly. The Paoli-Thorndale line is also about a 10min walk away. The apt is located very close to where Lowrys Ln interacts with Lancaster Ave, so there is a 106 bus stop right at the end of the road.

There’s a number of restaurants, convenience stores, and other shopping not far up the road in Bryn Mawr, and the location is about a 15min drive to King of Prussia. There’s an ACME about 1.5mi away a Giant about 3mi away, and a Mom’s Market (organic grocery) about half a mile away.

The place does not have a washer and dryer on site, but there is a laundromat about 0.4mi away.

Feel free to ask any questions!

Roommate needed for 2 Bedroom Apartment less than 1 mile from Campus

I am finishing up my master’s degree this May and will be looking to relocate. My roommate, a female who received a master’s from Villanova in May 2017, works in the city (Philadelphia) and is remaining in the apartment, but will need another roommate to take over my share of the lease. The apartment is on the second floor of a triplex, and consists of two bedrooms, bathroom, large living room and kitchen. Rent is $587.50 per month, water is included, but heat, electric, and cable/internet would be extra. The home is just off Lancaster Avenue, and is right in between the SEPTA 106 Bus line and Norristown High Speed Line, as well as a 10 min walk from the Rosemont Regional Rail station. It’s also about a 10-15min walk to various parts of campus, so it would be perfect for a graduate student who need to spend a lot of time on campus. Please email mstrolle@villanova.edu for more information.
