The apartment is on S. 8th Street between Walnut and Locust. It’s 1/2 block from Washington Square Park, 2 blocks from the Market-Frankford Line, 4 blocks from Jefferson Station. Close to: Wawa, good sushi, marketplaces and grocery store, great restaurants, theatres, Ritz 5. A mile from Rittenhouse and a mile from Old City. 50-minute drive to Villanova on a standard weekday morning, or a 50-minute commute, door-to-Bartley-Hall, by Septa Regional Rail via Jefferson Station.
It’s a walk-up on the 3rd floor with a small galley kitchen (with dishwasher). The living room is large and gorgeous with windows that look out over the Morris Hotel. The live jazz music on Wednesdays and Fridays wafts into our living space.
The available room is on the 3rd floor on the back of the house, so it is isolated from street and subway noise. It has an attached private full bath, a huge bay window, and two full closets. Photos attached!
The apartment has a washer/dryer, is fully carpeted, and has 2 full bathrooms, so each roommate has her own. It is an old apartment with understandable quirks, but the landlord and the property managers are responsive and otherwise pretty much leave us alone. Utilities (electric and gas) do get high in the summer and winter, depending on usage, and can be as high as $220 per person in the coldest months, but average more around $150. I have internet, but don’t get cable. I’ve lived in this space since 2012 and it’s amazing. My room and a storage room/washer/dryer are on the 4th floor. First, Last, and Security Deposit due on move-in.
